A Journey of Taste, Culture and Inspiration

ANATYXIAKI HEPIROS SA - Local Government Development Organization carried out a two-day educational and experiential wine tourism trip to Amyndeon, Nymphaeum and Naoussa, in the framework of the Interlocal Cooperation Plan «Organization and Promotion of Wine Tourism». On 4 and 5 October 2025, representatives of the wine and tourism industry had the opportunity to live a unique experience that combined knowledge with pleasure, nature with tradition and gastronomy with innovation.
A journey full of flavours, experiences and knowledge exchange
This two-day event was a complete experience that combined the world of wine with local tradition, hospitality, gastronomy and nature. Through visits to emblematic wineries, tours of vineyards and acquaintance with modern practices, participants had the opportunity to «travel» both in the history of Greek wine and the new perspectives of wine tourism.
It was a meeting of people with a common vision, a vibrant platform of ideas and inspiration on how wine can become a vehicle for culture, local development and sustainable tourism. The tastings, discussions, exchanges and contact with the authenticity of the places created a unique mosaic of experiences that highlighted the potential of wine tourism in Greece.
When wine becomes an experience
The two-day excursion showed in the most comprehensive way how wine tourism can transform wine from a product into a multidimensional experience for the visitor. Each stop on the trip was a unique invitation to experience not only the varieties and labels, but also the culture, philosophy and stories that accompany them.
● Karanika Estate - Levia of Florina
An authentic introduction to the world of sparkling wines, where the passion of the Karanika family meets international experience and Greek tradition. Visitors experienced how the méthode traditionnelle comes to life through the indigenous varieties of Xinomavro, Assyrtiko and Limniona, discovering the power of patience and the winemaker's art.
● Amyndeon - Merlot Wine Resto Bar
The experience was transferred to a place where local gastronomy is the main focus. With combinations of Greek delicacies and local wines, participants felt how taste becomes a bridge between culture and everyday life, offering a more direct, friendly and creative dimension of wine tourism.
● Domaine Alpha - Amyndeon
A complete example of modern wine tourism, where the tour of the vineyards and the state-of-the-art facilities was complemented by a tasting that highlighted the character of the terroir. Guests not only experienced the wines, but also experienced the estate's philosophy of combining technology, innovation and respect for nature with the experience of pleasure.
● Bear Sanctuary «Arcturus» - Nymphaeum
A necessary break that gave another dimension to the trip, as it linked wine tourism with sustainable development and nature protection. Participants were introduced to the work of the «Arcturus» organisation, discovering that wine and tourism can become participants in a broader dialogue on biodiversity and ecology.
● Kir Yianni Estate - Naoussa
The climax of the trip came through the contact with the emblematic Kir Yianni Estate. The tour of the vineyards and the facilities, the tasting of rare labels and the high gastronomy meal at the award-winning Green Award restaurant highlighted how the history and tradition of Xinomavro marry with the modern way of hospitality. An experience that proved that wine tourism is not just about wine tasting, but a holistic journey into the values, culture and sustainability of a place.
A journey that made wine an experience, the taste an experience and the visitor a participant of the local culture.
With this action, HEPIROS SA confirmed once again its decisive role in networking and supporting producers, professionals and institutions. It created bridges of cooperation and highlighted the Greek vineyard as a pillar of development with an international perspective, contributing substantially to the shaping of a future where wine is inextricably linked to the experience, culture and sustainable tourism identity of our country.
* The action was carried out in the framework of the implementation of Action B.2.2 «Programme of visits for the exchange of good practices of wine tourism experience» of the Interregional Cooperation Plan «Organisation and Promotion of Wine Tourism» of the CLLD/LEADER Local Programme, Measure 19/Parameter 19.3 of the CLLD 2014-2020.
